Nancy Hazel Adams, 85, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Hope Memory Care in Dacula, GA.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Paul Appleby officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 6, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Adams was born October 30, 1927 in Madison County, GA, daughter of the later Homer Odell and Emma Pearl Smith. She graduated from Madison County High School and Athens Business College. She was a long time member of Central Christian Church, having served as a Deaconness, Elder (Elder Emeritus), Trustee, Board Moderator, President of Christian Women's Fellowship, Vice Moderator of the Regional Board in Macon, GA and a Trustee of Christian College in Athens, GA. Mrs. Adams served as a volunteer at St. Francis Hospital and worked for the Columbus Board of Elections. She was also a member of Night Owl Homemakers.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon H. Adams and her son, Don Adams.
Survivors include her daughters, Diane Adams of Lawrenceville, GA, Debby Butler (Jimmy) of Lilburn, GA and Donna Kay Kennedy (Randy) of Lawrenceville, GA; daughter-in-law, Nancy Holt Adams of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Ken Allison (Risa), Lisa Cox (Clay), Jimmy Adams, Bret Muetzelfeld (Beth), Ashley Kennedy and Hannah Muetzelfeld; and great grandchildren, Connor Cox, Carson Cox, Shane Allison and Leah Allison.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Central Christian Church, 7775 Moon Road, Columbus, GA 31909.
