Nalla Jean Richards

Nalla Jean Richards passed away on September 3, 2024 in Columbus, GA at 97 years of age.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, September 6, 2024 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Andy Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery 4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Jean was born May 27, 1927 in Laurel, MS to the late Ellis R. and Grace Harvison Davis. She married Charles Richards on February 8, 1948. During her husband’s active duty in the United States Army, she was a homemaker. Her home was always filled with love and a warm Christian environment. She was an excellent cook and loved her flowers. In 1974 she became a successful realtor and sold real estate until the age of 85. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Richards and a sister, Norma Coats.

Jean is survived by her children, Charles Dale Richards (Charlene) of Valley, AL, Gloria Myers (Bob) of Midland, GA, brother, Paul Davis (Martha) of Edna, TX, a sister, Narlene Harper of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Brad Richards of Ft. Pierce, FL, Charles Baxley (Ashley) of Lisbon, ME, Bobby Myers (Robin) of Henrico, VA and one great-grandchild, Eddy Baxley.
