Myrad J. Tubbs 84, of Smiths, AL died Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 4:30 PM Thursday, September 17, 2009 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tony Dickerson officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 16, 2009 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Tubbs was born July 20, 1925 in Wells, NV daughter of the late Henry and Ida Elizabeth Baker. She was a homemaker and a member of Pinehurst Baptist Church where she was a dedicated choir member. She also loved to shop. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lee Tubbs.
Survivors include her daughters, Major M. Tharpe and husband, John A. Tharpe of Midland, GA and Mrs. Cindy Vaughn and husband, Graig Vaughn, Jr. of Midland, GA, sons, Dr. Richard C. Tubbs and wife, Marilyn Tubbs Simon of Denver, CO, Mr. Gary L. Tubbs and wife, Shelly Tubbs of Columbus, GA, and Mr. Terry R. Tubbs and wife, Melanie Tubbs of Columbus, GA, nine grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Columbus Hospice 7020 Moon Rd. Columbus, GA 31909.
