Murray W. Craig, Jr., 76, of Columbus GA died April 4, 2024 at his residence.
A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, April 19, 2024 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 2100 Hilton Ave, Columbus, GA 31906 according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. There will be a private burial held at a later date.
Murray was born December 29, 1947 in Columbus Georgia to the late Murray W. Craig, Sr. and Ailene Smith Craig. He retired from the Muscogee County School District after 27 years of service as a Language Arts teacher. He proudly served in the United States Navy and graduated from Columbus State University with a Masters degree in Education. He was very caring, loved his family and friends, and studying Scotch Irish culture.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, June Mauldin.
Survivors include his daughters, Julie Craig and Sarah Andre (Chaly) of Columbus, GA. and Katherine Gosden (Ben) of Savannah, GA. sisters, Nancy Craig Graham (Dr. Bill Graham) of Columbus, GA and Susan Craig Sellers (Gaston) of Marietta, GA. Left behind are his five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
