Msgt Floyd Allen (Ret.) Hightower

MSGT (Ret) Floyd Allen Hightower, 96 of Columbus, died Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Columbus Hospice Midtown West. Funeral Services with military honors will be held 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Roy White officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 P. M.
MSGT Hightower was born October 27, 1918 in Knoxville, TN, the son of Curtis and Barbara Russell Hightower. He was a U. S. Army veteran retiring with over 20 years of service. MSGT Hightower was a member of Living Grace United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith E. Hightower.
Survivors include his daughter, Lesley Hightower Crane and husband, Larry Crane of MD, one son, Allen Wade Hightower and wife Dr. Marta Ackers Hightower of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, two granddaughters, Edith Saylor and Claire Hightower, two grandsons, Hugh Camp and Bryce Hightower, one great granddaughter, Heather Saylor.
