MSG (Ret.) Larry Allan Chase 79, of Phenix City, Alabama died Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Bill Nichols State Veterans Home in Alexander City, Alabama.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 3:00 PM Monday, January 04, 2021 in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the services at the cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Georgia 31907. Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, we encourage everyone to make the best decisions to remain safe. Mr. Chase was born February 08, 1941 in Cherry Valley, Arkansas son of the late Edney Allen and Annie Jewel Chase. Larry was the 1959 graduate of L.C. Humes High School in Memphis, Tennessee. Shortley after, Larry enrolled into the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany and Alaska and was a Vietnam veteran retiring after 20 years as a Master Sergeant. Mr. Chase had two sons Donald Chase and Allan Chase by his first wife. After his retirement, Larry met his beloved wife of 32 years Linda Sue Chase while visiting the Columbus Trade Center.
Other than his parents, Mr. Chase was preceded in death by his wife Linda Sue Chase, son Allan Chase, brother, John Wayne Chase and his stepson, Gerald Edward Lisle, Jr.
Survivors include his sister, Notra Aline Hechley of Memphis, TN., brother, Michael Randy Chase of Birmingham, AL; stepdaughter, Tina Gantt of Columbus, Georgia, stepson, Jerry Bowman of Smith Station, AL; grandchildren, Gerald Dale Lisle, Christy Gilliland (Richard), Jerry Bowman (Amber), Lena Pierce, Taylor Gantt and Miller Gantt.
The family would like to express their appreciation to all his caregivers and the staff of Bill Nichols State Veterans Home for their exceptional care of MSG (Ret.) Larry Allan Chase.
