Msg (Ret) Harris Charalambo Dickerson

MSG (Ret) Harris Charalambo Dickerson, 52 of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, July 11, 2023 in North Camp, Sinai Egypt.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 21, 2023, in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Georgia, 31907. Interment will be held at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery following the service.

Harris was born on July 18, 1970 in San Bernardino California to Rodney Dickerson and Maria Plaka. After high school, Harris faithfully served his country with the United States Army for over twenty three years. He retired as a Master Sergeant and continued to serve his country both as a liaison and as an advisor with the Multinational Force and Observers. His military education includes the Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, the Army Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, and Army Retention course.  Decorations and awards include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (7th award), Army Commendation Medal (3rd award), the National Defense Service Medal (2nd award), and the Global War of Terrorism.

Friends remember MSG Dickerson as an intelligent and dedicated individual who always sought to increase his knowledge of the world around him; he was especially interested in learning new languages and was known as a history buff.

Harris loved his family above everything; they will always remember him as a hard worker who never complained and always valued strength of character and courage.

He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Lisbeth Adela Serracin; his daughters, Maria Mercedes Dickerson, Maria Magdalena Dickerson Serracin; son, Enrique Rodney Dickerson Serracin; sister, Beatrice Cunningham (Daniel); nephew, Christopher Cunningham; niece, Maria Juanita Cunningham.
