Mrs. Fumiyo Katae Lyons

Mrs. Fumiyo Katae Lyons, 93, of Shreveport, Louisiana peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on September 1, 2022, in Columbus, Georgia.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Grace Community Church in Fortson, Georgia. A private interment will be held at Fort Benning Main Post Cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Fumiyo was born September 20, 1928 in Sasebo, Japan to the late Kenichi Katae and Haru Yamaguchi Katae. She enjoyed her pets, cooking, shopping, dancing and absolutely loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard W. Lyons and her sister Sachiko Stephens.

Left to cherish her memories are her family and friends, daughters, Linda Cave (George), Ginny Dockter (Steve), Denise Shivers (John), Kathy Sikes (Jay), grandchildren, Greg Cave, Brandon Cave  (Michele), Stephen Dockter,Jr.(Amber), Heather Cieslak, Tiffany Butterfield (Jake), John Preston Dockter (Shelby), Mandi Odum (Randy), Amy Mosley (Matt), Meghan Jones  (Johnny), Caroline Garcia (Alex), Aubrey Sikes, Trey Sikes,  great-grandchildren, Richard Cave, Amber Cave, Riley Smith-Cave, Natalie Dockter, Ross Dockter, Colette Cieslak, Jordan Cieslak, Karsyn Butterfield, Tanner Butterfield, Preston Dockter, Jessica Odum, Joshua Odum , Cheyenne Butler, Miriam Mosley, Emma Jones, Christian Garcia, Thomas Garcia, four great-great grandchildren, sister in-law, Joyce Mather (Marvin), dear friends Josette Keeton, Brenda Taylor and Josefina Simoncini as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Columbus Hospice House and all the staff for the wonderful care provided to Mrs. Fumiyo Katae Lyons.
