Morris "Tommy" Cooper Middleton, 83, of Columbus, GA died at his residence Saturday, September 15, 2018.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Cornerstone Full Gospel 2517 2nd Ave. Columbus Ga with Mr. Rick Frith officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Middleton was born October 22, 1934 in Columbus, GA son of the late Alton M. Middleton and Estelle Cooper Middleton. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving our country proudly. Mr. Middleton was a painter by trade, but he will be remembered as a loving and hardworking husband, dad and granddaddy. His family also has fond memories of him enjoying telling stories and talking to everyone he met. We will miss him, but his memories will forever be in our hearts.
Mr. Middleton was also preceded in death by an infant son, Timothy Wayne Middleton and a brother, William L. Middleton.
Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Knight Middleton, Columbus; three children, Christopher (Patricia) Middleton, Pensacola, FL, Gregory (Lisa) Middleton, and Pamela (Rick) Frith, all of Columbus, GA; three siblings, Jimmy Middleton, Columbus, Ned Middleton, Phenix City and Barbara Blackwell, Columbus; five grandchildren, Taylor, Cassidy, Garrett, Caitlin, and Jesse; two great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends also survive. The family also who like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Kindred Hospice, and a heartfelt thank you to Jennifer Davis who spent three days a week with Tommy and was able to make him smile when no one else could.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Chattahoochee Valley Regional Office, 5156 River Rd M, Columbus, GA, 31904.
