Milton (Bubba) Clark Davlin, 73, of Columbus, GA. passed peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 29, 2017, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.
The family will receive friends and relatives for a memorial remembrance Sunday, August 6, 2017 between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. A gathering at the family home will follow.
Milton was born November 2, 1943 in Houston, TX to the late Lou Vernie Harrison and Hardin Carroll Davlin. He spent his childhood years living between Houston and Ennis, TX. After joining the Army, Milton settled in Columbus. Milton was a masonry contractor and together with son Tommy, ran The Davlin Co. He enjoyed playing golf and throwing parties for family and friends.
Milton is preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Hart Nevells and sisters, Carolyn Davlin Meyers and Mary Richards.
Milton is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sharon Davlin, sister, Joey Pierce, daughter Carla (Ronnie) Phillips of Wetumpka, Al. sons Bobby (Michele) Davlin of Columbus, Tommy (Tina) Davlin of Columbus, Eddie (Stephanie) Lindley of Auburn, Al. and John (Mistie) Christopher of Willows, CA. He was the grandfather of 12, Jeffery (Melissa), Krystalynn, Jessica, Cody, Zoe, Presleigh, Tanner, Amanda, Ethan, John Luke, Paisley and Hazel. Milton was the great grandfather of 7, Alexis, Jacob, Cayden, McKenzie, Grayson, Summer and Jordan.
The family would like to give a special thanks to loving caregiver and friend Cindy. A very special thanks to friend and neighbor Barbara who for the last two years spent numerous hours providing care and company to Milton. We can't forget the love she showered on Milton's four legged companions, Pablo and Pumpkin. Also, son Tommy who spent long hours caring for his father enabling him to remain at home living a more comfortable life while in the end stages of this debilitating disease, and son, Bobby, who was always on-call for late night emergencies.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to APDA, American Parkinson Disease Association www.apdaparkinson.org.
