Mildred (Mickey) Rivers, 97, of Columbus, GA, died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Columbus Hospice, Midtown .
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Turner Chapel of St. Luke United Methodist Church with Rev. Dick Reese and Rev. Cindy Garrard officiating. Interment will be held 11:30 AM, Monday, February 2, 2015 at Riverdale Cemetery, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Rivers was born August 26, 1917 in East Chicago, IN, daughter of the late Peter Dotlich and Manda Skorich Dotlich. She was a dental assistant in the Civil Service and was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and the Shaw Fellowship Class for 69 years. She was also a member of Chapter 219, National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), the Winchester Garden Club, and the Friendship Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bonner Dudley Rivers.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Rivers of Columbus, GA and Bonnie Malley of Marietta, GA; sons, Robert Rivers and partner, Ann Johnson of Franklin, TN, and George Rivers (Nancy) of Lilburn, GA; 4 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
Flowers will be accepted, but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 1104 2nd Ave. Columbus, GA 31901.
