Mildred Day Patterson, 94 of Columbus died Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Brookside Glen.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Howle officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Patterson was born October 6, 1918 in Manchester, Georgia daughter of the late John Madison Day and Jesse Lee Hobby Day. She was one of the founding members of Edgewood Baptist Church and a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She was also a Sunday School teacher for the young boys. Her one treasure was her family and cherished the memories as they grew.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Webster Patterson; son, Charles Richard Patterson; brothers, James Floyd Day, Johnny L. Day and Jack D. Day.
Survivors include her sisters, Mary Evelyn Powers, Opal E. Bartlett, Betty Day Register (Lt. General (Ret.) Ben Register), Shirley D. Lane; nieces, Susan Day Simpson (Park), James Day, Linda Day Beall (Jimmy), Nancy Powers Watson (Charles), Mary Anne Powers (Larry Simmons), Sandra Bartlett Scarborough, Anne Register Glovier (Jim), Leslie Lane Horn (Rick), Karen Lane Yourchek (Randy); nephews, Larry D. Day (Barbara), Frank Norman Powers (Nancy), James Bo Bartlett (Betsy), Jeffrey L. Register (Julie), Richard L. Register (Malinda), George F. Lane, Jr. (Laurie) and John Lane (Lisa).
