Mildred Johnson Moore, 88, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Doctor's Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 3PM Thursday, March 25, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Tommy Mayton officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 3PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Moore was born September 22, 1921 in Miller Co., GA daughter of the late F. M. "Boss" Johnson and Girtha Baker Johnson. She was retired from the Muscogee County School District as a first grade teacher. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Gala Quilting Guild and the Muscogee Education Association. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Carlton Moore.
Survivors include her daughter, Olivia Ann "Libby" Turpie (Stephen) of Plano, TX, sons, Randall Johnson Moore (Nan) of Merritt Island, FL and Troy Marion "Marty" Moore of Columbus, GA, grandchildren, Crystal Henderson, Summer Cunningham, Daniel Henderson, Pierce Moore, Troy Moore, Marissa Moore and Brianna Moore, and great grandchildren, Ariel Earls, Whitney Paige Cunningham, Carly Henderson, and Kate Henderson.
Flowers will be accepted but those who wish may make memorial contributions to Epworth United Methodist Church 2400 Devonshire Dr. Columbus, GA 31904.
