Mildred Phillips Boggs, 87, of Phenix City, AL died Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at The Medical Center in Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend R. G. Blackwell officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, AL. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Boggs was born December 14, 1923 in Oriskany, VA daughter of the late Raymond V. and Ora C. Hannah Phillips. She retired from Archery Hosiery and Ampex Corporation and was a member of Seale Rd. Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy Darsey and Roy E. Boggs, and her son, Roy D. Darsey.
Survivors include her daughters, Glenda Hutchinson (Jimmy) of Phenix City, AL and Carol Smith (Smitty) of Smiths, AL; sons, Roy R. Darsey (Jo) of Auburn, NE and Larry D. Darsey (Elaine) of Box Springs, GA, daughter-in-law, Alice Darsey of Columbus, GA, half brothers, Richard Talburt of Texas, Howard Talburt of Arkansas and David Talburt of Arkansas, sister, Ellen Butler of Chicago, IL, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society 233 12th St. #710 Columbus, GA 31901, the Alzheimer's Association 5900 River Rd. #301 Columbus, GA 31904, or to your favorite charity.
