Mildred Elizabeth Brewer Blackwell, 69, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Gentiva Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, June 9, 2014 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Father George Gonzalez officiating. A Rosary will be said Sunday at 5:00 PM at the funeral home with visitation to follow until 7:00 PM.
Mrs. Blackwell was born April 7, 1945 in the Republic of Panama daughter of the late Cecil Clinton Brewer, Sr. and Flora Sem Brewer. She was a retired church secretary.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Eugene Blackwell, Sr. and son, Earl Eugene Blackwell, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Regina Lopez (Carlos) of Columbus, GA; sister, Melinda Brewer Crawford (Patrick) of Gainsville, FL; grandchildren, Peter Bagarella, Brandon Blackwell, Jonathan Blackwell, Carlitos Lopez and Marco Lopez; two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Savannah; God-Children, Kaylee Ann McRae and Gunnar Norton; very close and dear friend, Sharon Elhard; nieces and nephews, Kimberly Martin, Lance Norton, Lauren Norton, and Edward Brewer; cousin, Angela Collom.
Flowers will be accepted, but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Gentiva Hospice, 2425 Williams Road Columbus, GA 31909.
