Michael D. Poveromo, 76, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016.
Mike was born October 14, 1939 in Abington, PA son of the late Michael J. Poveromo (Mickey Palmer) and Viola DeRoach Poveromo. He lived most of his life in Trenton, NJ and currently lived in Columbus, GA for the past nine years. He graduated from Hamilton High School West in 1957.
Mike served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1962 at the U.S. Naval Air Test Facility, Naval Air Station in Lakehurst, NJ. He retired from the Security Dept. with Mercer County Community College. Mike enjoyed hunting, deep sea fishing and working on cars, NASCAR, good Italian food, and spending time with family, friends and his granddog, Buffy.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joan M. Carter.
Survivors include his daughter, Michele Barker and her husband, David, of Columbus, GA and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private service will be held at a later date according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
