Michael "Mike" Murphy

Michael "Mike" Murphy, 64, of Fortson, GA died Saturday, August 18, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Mark Martin and Mr. Bill Gafford, Jr. officiating. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Murphy was born November 27, 1953 in Ft. Belvoir, VA son of Carmen Medina Murphy of Columbus, GA and the late Marlyn Murphy. He worked for 30 years as a Technician for Warren Equipment Services. Mike loved fishing and was a "work-a-holic", but mostly loved helping family when it was needed.
Other than his mother he is survived by his son, James Murphy of Fortson, GA, sisters, Patricia Sprung (Richard) of Columbus, GA, Angela Murphy of Columbus, GA, Tina Gafford (William "Bill") of Carrollton, GA and Pamela Sparks of Louisville, KY, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to the Animal Ark 7133 Sacerdote Lane Columbus, GA 31907 or to PAWS Humane 4900 Milgen Rd. Columbus, GA 31909.
