Michael "Wayne" McClellan, 68, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Midtown Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Pastor James Strickland officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. McClellan was born June 2, 1948 in Columbus, GA son of the late Howard and Edna Langley McClellan. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He served in the Vietnam War in 1968, and was awarded the bronze and silver star. He retired from the U.S. Civil Service in Ft. Benning, GA as a Sheet Metal Mechanic after 32 years. Mr. McClellan was also a member of Eastside Assembly of God.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Howell McClellan.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah McClellan of Columbus, GA, children, Michael Wayne McClellan, Jr. (Edeliza), William Perry Atchison (Stacy), Chris Griffin McClellan, Angel Diana McCoy (Jonathan) and Crystal Nicole Brundage (Andy), brother, Howard Earl McClellan (Sheena), sister-in-law, Linda McClellan, and nine grandchildren, Ashley McClellan, Rassel (RJ) Aspa, Savannah Brooke McCoy, Gabriel Luke McCoy, Elise Belle Atchison, Lilly Paige McCoy, Liam Kingsley Atchison, Tucker Perry Atchison, and Ephraim Michael Brundage.
