Michael Ray Herndon, 71, of Columbus, GA died Monday, June 01, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital.
A private memorial service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. Guidelines set forth by the CDC and Governor Brian Kemp to maintain social distancing for those attending the funeral will be in effect.
Michael was born September 05, 1948 in Columbus, GA to the late Ernest Ray Herndon and Ruby O. Herndon. He was a graduate of Jordan High School. He worked for Southern Bell and owned his own phone business as well. He also owned several other independent businesses. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald Wayne Herndon and David Ernest Herndon.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathy Murphy Herndon, son, Gregory Michael Herndon (Melissa), daughter, Karen Herndon Eldridge (Wayne), grandchildren. Nicolas Michael Herndon, Jackson Carter Eldridge, Kennedy Mandy Eldridge, Evan Michael Herndon, Ty Bailey Eldridge, Chase Alexander Herndon, sister Linda Herndon Kunze (John), several nieces and nephews.
