Michael A. Gomes

Michael A. Gomes, 63, of Midland, GA passed away peacefully Sunday, March 26, 2023 at his home in Midland, GA.

Funeral services will be held 7:00 PM Wednesday, March 29, 2023 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. James Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 6:30 PM at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA. Burial will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.

Michael was born in Honolulu, HI on October 3, 1959 to the late Ronald and Welda Nell Gomes. He was married to his loving wife, Anita for many years prior to his passing. Michael enlisted in the United States Army after high school, where he retired as a Sergeant First Class. He served in various positions, had many deployments, and earned numerous awards and decorations. Michael enjoyed fishing, playing cards, but most of all he cherished moments spent with family. Michael will be remembered as a good provider to his family; he always made sure that his girls had everything they always needed.

Survivors include his wife of many years, Anita Gomes, daughter, Patricia Gomes, granddaughter, Ava Gomes, siblings, John Gomes (Norris), Ronald L. Gomes (Jane), Melody Rampone (Rodger), Daniel Gomes Cara), Vienna Gomes, and Laureen
