On Wednesday, April 7, 2021, Michael “Mike” Ray Fox, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 71.
Mike was born on May 22, 1949 in Pensacola, Florida. He was a 1971 graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi. After graduation, he was then commissioned into the US Army and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. After an honorable discharge as Captain, he then became a distribution manager. He spent most of his career at Swift Textiles. On March 26, 1977, he married Virginia “Ginger” Hardy.
Mike had a passion for cooking, reading books, and watching sports. He also loved to visit the mountains for extended vacation with his wife Ginger. He enjoyed keeping up with his son and grandsons’ sporting accomplishments. He was known for his quick wit and his kind and compassionate spirit.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Grille. He is survived by his wife, Ginger, his son, Jamie and his wife Denise and their two sons, Ryne and Nash, his long time best friend “brother” Jerry Fedderson, and his loving dog, Murphy.
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, April 12th at McMullen Funeral Home at 5:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request you send a donation to St. Jude at www.stjude.org.
