Mercer Hollis Brown, 73, of Midland, GA passed away September 14, 2021 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, October 8, 2021 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Military Honors. A Celebration of Life will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 440 Kristy Lynn Way, Midland, GA 31820.
Mercer was born June 20, 1948 in Columbus, GA, son of the late Harvey Franklin Brown and Agnes Ellerby Brown. He reached the rank of Sergeant in the US Army. He was retired from the Fort Benning Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Maria Blaxton Brown of Midland, GA; son, Michael Brown (Brandy) of Buckeye, AZ; grandchildren, Michael Hollis Brown, Jr., Katherine Synclaire Brown; Ben Darby, Kellan Gould, stepdaughter, Leigh Ann DuPriest of West Point, GA; step grandchildren, Ava DuPriest, Piers DuPriest; brother, Travis Brown (Susan) of Phenix City, AL; and sister, Wanda Gail Eaton of Iowa.
