McLendon Wash Jenkins, Jr., 58, of Columbus, GA passed away peacefully at home on the morning of December 5, 2018.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 7, 2018 at St. Paul United Methodist Church 2101 Wildwood Ave. Columbus, GA 31906 with Rev. Dr. Shane Green officiating. A private burial will be held in the Jenkins Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening at the home of John and Margaret Schley according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory.
Mack was born December 12, 1959 in Columbus, GA and was a lifelong resident of Columbus. A graduate of Columbus High School, Mack was a small business owner his entire life, and worked always for others before himself. Never too busy or tired to help another in need, Mack was a steward of his community and a pilar for his family. Mack was a member of Midland United Methodist Church, before joining St. Paul United Methodist Church, where he was a steadfast member of the Chancel Choir. He will be remembered by those near him with great love, admiration and affection.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Pease Jenkins and his father, McLendon Wash Jenkins.
Survivors include his wife, Celia Crawford Jenkins, children, Mack and Mollie, siblings, Margaret Schley (John), Jack Jenkins (Fontaine) and Bill Jenkins (Wendy), parents-in-law, Sylvia and David Crawford, brother-in-law, Mark Crawford, 3 nieces, 6 nephews, and countless cousins and friends, as well as his beloved Jack Russell, Ton.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff of Columbus Hospice, Wilma Powell and Chantel Short; working to help others overcome.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the St. Paul Chancel Choir, Trees Columbus, Columbus Hospice, or the Emory ALS Center.
