Maya Turpin, 89, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017 surrounded by family and loved ones.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Turpin was born on December 1, 1927 in Tokyo, Japan. She married Roy Turpin on July 18, 1956 and they raised one daughter. She was a proud homemaker and the matriarch of her family. She was loved dearly and will be grieved deeply.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Masagi Shimazu and daughter, Diana Winchester.
Survivors include her husband, 3 grandchildren, Mieko, Worth and Benjamin Winchester, and 5 siblings.
