Retired SSGT Maxie Richardson, 91, of Columbus Ga. died Monday, March 2, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital.
Full Military Graveside services will be held 11:00AM Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Parkhill Cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Ga. 31907.
Maxie was born October 28, 1928 to the late Fred C. Richardson and Vicki James Richardson. Maxie served in the U.S. Army for 23 years where he retired as a SSGT. He later worked as collection manager with general finance. He loved to travel and he really enjoyed life itself. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Ray Richardson, sisters, Glenna Barneau and Carolyn Richardson.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ruth Strempel Richardson of Columbus Ga., sons, Robert D. Richardson of Cataula, Ga., Wayne Richardson (Mona) of Conway, SC., Ken Richardson (Donna) of Conway, SC., sister, Pat Moore, brother Ceif Richardson (Virginia) of Monks Corner, SC., grandchildren Patrick Richardson, Jason Richardson, Ryan Richardson, Toni Richardson, Renee Richardson, Christie Hucks, and 3 great grand children.
