Maurine Rowland Immel, 93, Columbus, GA died Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Graveside Services will be held 11:30AM Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Parkhill Cemetery with Dr. Geoff Hammond and Dr. Kevin Calhoun officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday morning from 10:00-11:00 AM at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Immel was born June 26, 1920 in Phenix City, AL, daughter of the late William Charles Rowland and Neiter Harris Rowland. She was a member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church and former teacher of the Lillian Harris Sunday School Class. Mrs. Immel was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading and sewing.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Donald C. Immel, Sr. and son; Donald C. Immel, Jr.
Survivors include son; H. Michael Immel (Penny) of Lafayette, LA, daughter; Allyson Immel Bruner (Will) of Austin, TX, sisters; June R. Poyner (Leon) and Bettie R. Willingham both of Columbus, GA, Patricia R. Shaw of Oklahoma City, OK, brother; John Rowland (Elaine) of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren; Penn Immel Schwartzenburg (Andrew), Michael Immel, JR ( Tanya), Rob Buchanan (Drew), Brianna Immel, and 8 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Acadian, 2600 Johnson Street Lafayette, LA 70503.
