Maryann Laplace Vogtman

MaryAnn LaPlace Vogtman, 80, of Columbus, GA died Friday, July 30th, 2021 at her home.

Born to Louis and  Marian (Wersing) LaPlace in Pittsburgh, PA, was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Louis.  She is survived by her sons, Duane (Donna) Vogtman of Columbus, GA and Shawn (Heather) Vogtman of Morgan Hill, CA.  MaryAnn was a devoted mother, grandmother (Ian, Jacob, Gary and Wade), and great grandmother (Mallory and Maddison, along with all her “bonus” great grands).  She was a loving sister to Terrie LaPlace of Monroeville, PA, Cecilia (Ed) Sterling of Bremerton, WA and Jeannette LaPlace of Norco, LA, as well as many nieces and nephews, including greats.

Before retirement, MaryAnn was a case worker for the State of Pennsylvania, a Soldier (1004th QM CO) and Auxiliary Police Officer.  She loved card club, casino trips and time with family and friends.  After retirement, she was a happy member of the Red Hats Society, a member of the St Luke Free Spirits and St Anne Catholic Church.  MaryAnn loved her family and friends and remained in close contact even after her relocation.

She will be cremated in Georgia and returned to Pennsylvania for her final resting place.  Her funeral mass and celebration of life are scheduled for September 4, 2021 in Irwin, PA.
