Mary Isabel Wilton, 65, of Columbus, GA died Friday, October 9, 2009 at her residence surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dan MacMinn officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Mrs. Wilton was born June 21, 1944 in Berwick-Upon-Tweed, England daughter of the late William Huggan and Mary Paterson Hamilton Huggan. She was previously employed with the Better Business Bureau in Columbus, GA where she was a member relations executive. She served as a volunteer for the 1996 Olympic Games. She had a passion for movies and music. She was an avid reader of books and loved to travel. She always liked keeping the peace and she was a great cook.

Survivors include her husband, David Wilton of Columbus, GA, her daughter, Sharon Myler (Bernd) of Columbus, GA, her son, David William Wilton (Courtney Ann Bobo) of Columbus, GA, two grandsons, Jacob Conner Wilton and Gavin Wesley Wilton both of Columbus, GA, a sister, Jean Hay (Tom) of Glasgow, Scotland and a brother, David Huggan (Rosarie) of Clonakilty, Ireland and a number of nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Columbus Hospice 7020 Moon Rd. Columbus, GA 31909.
