Mary "June" Whatley, 76, died Friday, July 8, 2011 at the residence of her daughter in Seale, AL.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charles Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 11, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 613 14th Street, Phenix City, AL.

Mrs. Whatley was born June 16, 1935 in Phenix City, AL to the late Willie H. and Mary Elinor Camp. She retired as a Special Education teacher with Phenix City Board of Education after 22 years of service and was at one time a realtor with the Phenix City Board of Realtors. She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Whatley, Sr., her brother, Rudy Cook and her sister, Jackie Mazzola.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Darlene Whatley Bishop; her son, William J. Whatley, Jr. and wife Gay; two grandchildren, Riki Kimberly Davis and husband Ren and James Askins Whatley, as well as five great grandchildren all of Phenix City, AL; sisters, Mildred Langston and Mattie Lou Leonard and husband Gary; brother, Willie H. Camp, Jr. and wife Norma Jean; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
