Mary Lee "Sugar Mama" Tallent, 82, of Montgomery, AL died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Baptist Medical Center in Montgomery, AL.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Watson McKemie, Reverend Bud Ruppel and Reverend Paul Thomas officiating. A private interment will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus, GA. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Tallent was born January 15, 1928 in Americus, GA daughter of the late George E. Buchanan, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Lee Buchanan. She was a homemaker and a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God and a member of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class, and she recently started attending Vaughn Forest Church in Montgomery, AL.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua Rigsby.
Survivors include her husband, Edgar Tallent of Montgomery, AL, daughter, Elizabeth Leign Pfitzner (Kurt) of Montgomery, AL, son, George Michael Tallent (Charlotte) of Roswell, GA, brother, George E. Buchanan, III (Margie) of York, PA, two grandchildren, Rachel Arnone (Donald) of Montgomery, AL and Asher Rigsby (Erin) of Montgomery, AL, and four great grandchildren.
