Mary Danielly Ramsay, 87, of Columbus, Georgia died Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Columbus Hospice House.
A private graveside service will be held at Parkhill Cemetery with Rev. Gene Boyd officiating, according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Mary was born June 18, 1936 in Columbus, Georgia and was the only child of Katie Phillips and Crowder Flynt Danielly. Mary graduated from Columbus High School and Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She was also a graduate of The University of Georgia where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.
Mary grew up and married in The First Presbyterian Church then became a active member and long time teacher of the Primary Department and took part in many church activities while attending First Baptist Church of Columbus, Ga. Since her younger days, Mary loved creating and tending her flower, herb and vegetable garden which was taught to her by her grandmother. Mary volunteered through the years at hospitals, schools and nursing homes and treasured her bible study groups. Her faith and her family were foremost in her life. She was always found of saying “I was blessed my whole life”.
Other than her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years in 2014.
Survivors include her two beloved sons James Robert Ramsay IV and Philip Turner Ramsay, M.D.
