Mary Ellen Pilgreen

Mary Ellen Pilgreen, 69, entered her eternal home on the morning of November 12, 2021 following a long hard fought battle with Liver disease.

She was preceded home by her Mother Mildred Colbert, Father Leonard Eugene, and Sister Brenda Kay. She is survived by one son, Kevin Michael Pilgreen, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and her beloved cats. She will be missed by her best friend Lori Bernardo, an extended church family, along with loads of people she touched their lives, hearts and minds.

Mary Ellen served in the legal field in some fashion or another starting in the Municipal Court in Columbus, finishing with serving as Clerk of Municipal Court. Continuing and finishing her career as a paralegal for a local law firm.

Her faith was extremely important to her, at the time of her death she was serving as an Elder of Sherwood Presbyterian Church. From age 12 she played piano for smaller local churches as mart of her ministry along with working with the youth groups of those churches.

There will be a memorial service for Mary Ellen, held at her church,  Sherwood Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Ga on Thursday November 18, 2021 at 2pm.

At her request in lieu of flowers, she asks that donations be made to PAWS Humane Society or to Sherwood Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Ga.
