Mary Shelton Morgan

Mary Shelton Morgan, 93, peacefully passed away in her Columbus home on Sunday, April 8, 2018.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. Paul Buckheister officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Memorial Cemetery in Woodland, GA. Mrs. Morgan will be buried next to her husband. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Born in Union County, Kentucky on September 23, 1924, Mary spent her life in service of her family, church, and those less fortunate than herself. A member of Midway United Methodist Church for 55 years, she was active as Sunday School Superintendent, and participated in Bible Study and craft social groups. Throughout her life, she was involved in her children's and grandchildren's activities and supported her husband in the service of his country. She volunteered with the Red Cross at Ft. Benning for 30 years.
She is predeceased by her husband, Charles H. Morgan, and two brothers, Robert and Frank Shelton.
She is survived by four children, William F. Morgan of Upatoi, Georgia, Carlla Morgan-Lampton of Romulus, Michigan, Nancy Morgan Beasley of Woodland, Georgia and Virginia Morgan McCullough of Tyrone, Georgia, ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, her constant canine companion, Holly, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations sent to Midway Methodist Church, 4442 Buena Vista Road, Columbus, Georgia, Columbus Hospice or a charity of your choice.
