Mary Jo "Jody" Jenkins, 88, of Phenix City, AL, died Monday, August 18, 2014 at her residence.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, 613 14th Street, Phenix City, AL 36867 with Rev. Richie Ashburn officiating. A private interment will be held in Lakeview Cemetery.
Ms. Jenkins was born December 6, 1925 in Phenix City, AL , daughter of the late D. L. Jenkins and Alice Hunter Jenkins. She was a former employee of the Civil Service as a parachute packer for WWII and then retired as a cafeteria worker for the Phenix City School District. Ms. Jenkins was a charter member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include her niece, Jane Norden and her husband, Russ of Phenix City, AL; great-niece, Ginger Dempsey and her husband Chuck of Cataula, GA; Aunt, Beulah Chadwick of Phenix City, AL; cousin, Linda Hargett, and several great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church of Phenix City, AL.
