Mary Ellen Cardell, 73, of Columbus, GA died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, February 23, 2013 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Elder officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Cardell was born June 10, 1939 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late William Mose Lisle and Clara B. Tice Lisle. She was a former nurse technician at Cobb Hospital and a member of First Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul D. Cardell, daughter, Pamela Cheryl Cardell, brothers, James, Ed, Carlton and David Lisle, and sisters, Lucille Johnston, Barbara Flowers.
Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Middleton (Dale) of Phenix City, AL and Tamela Turner (Thomas Hunnington) of Columbus, GA, five grandchildren, Shannon and Melissa Middleton and Michael, Jeremy, and Billy Turner, nine great grandchildren, and a special niece, Patricia Green of Columbus, GA.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial donations to the Columbus Humane Society 4900 Milgen Rd. Columbus, GA 31907.
