Mary L. Callaway, 76, of Columbus died Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, July 27, 2018 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor David Dollar officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Callaway was born June 13, 1942 in Columbus, Ga. daughter of the late Palmer L. Reese and Flossie Tant Jifkins. She retired after 20 years as a Nutrition Manager with the Muscogee County School District. and was a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Callaway loved her family. She loved cooking, entertaining and swinging on her porch.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra Van Pelt (David) of Waverly Hall, Ga., Sharon Schultz (Gerard) of Columbus, Ga., one son, Wallace Shellhouse, Jr. (Lee) of Orlando Fla., 5 grandchildren, Dana Waddell, David Van Pelt, Jr., Jerry Schultz, Jr., Jessica Daly, and Kody Shellhouse. 5 great-grandchildren, Glory Daly, Kendrick Daly, Claire Ann Van Pelt,Charlie Van Pelt and Jamie Daly.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association 5156 River Road Columbus, Georgia 31904 or alz.org
