Mary Lee Bowers, 77, of Phenix City, AL died Friday, April 6, 2012 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Billy Duncan officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Bowers was born September 12, 1934 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Charles and Beaulah Highsmith Bowen. She was a pre-school worker at Wynnton United Methodist Church and was a member of Beallwood Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy I. Bowers, Sr.
Survivors include her daughters, Theresa Harp (Charles) of Columbus, GA and Miriam Smith (David) of Midland, GA, son, Billy I. Bowers, Jr. (Amber) of Columbus, GA, four grandchildren, Rachel Harp, Mary Catherine Smith, Joshua Bowers and Samuel Bowers, cousins, Bobby and Jenny Howell and Chester and Ann Bowers, and brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Becky Bowers.
