Mary Roslyn Edwards Anthony, 86, of Columbus, GA died Friday, December 29, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral Services will held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. The Burial will be at Oakhill Cemetery in Talbotton, GA.
Mary Roslyn Edwards Anthony was born October 7, 1931 in Talbotton, Talbot County, Georgia to the proud parents Clarence Brown Edwards, Sr & Marie Barnes Edwards. She grew up in her beloved Junction City and Talbotton. She was educated in the Talbot County public school system and graduated from Talbot County High School in 1948. She then attended Auburn University where she received her degree in BA in Education in 1952.
Upon receipt of her degree she returned to Columbus where she taught First and Second grades at Rosehill Elementary and several other schools within the Muscogee County School District.
She was married to the love of her life Rodney Clark Anthony on New Year's Eve 1965. They were married for 49 years.
She was a long-time member of Sherwood Presbyterian Church in Columbus, and then after their move to Pine Mountain they attended the Methodist church there.
Proceeding her in death are her parents, brother Clarence Edwards, sister Marie Edwards Browne, and her husband Rodney Clark Anthony.
She is survived by her sister Florence Edwards Smith, nephews Charlie Browne, Wayne Edwards and Mike Edwards, numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
