Born on October 14, 1944 Jack's journey began as the beloved son of Mable and Marvin J Fitts Sr., both of whom predeceased him. He grew up alongside his brothers Jerry Fitts (deceased), Billy Fitts and sister, Jill Fitts, forming lifelong bonds and memories. Jack's legacy of love continued with his devoted wife of 58 years, Connie Fitts, and their three children, Dana Holland, Craig Fitts, and Joel Fitts. His role as a grandfather to Emily Robinette, Abby Hanft, Hannah Holland, Katherine Ann Fitts, Austin Fitts, Michael Holland, Carter Fitts, and Brody Fitts was one of his greatest joys and proudest accomplishments.
Jack's commitment to education led him to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Florida Atlantic University and a Master's Degree in Human Resources from Troy University. His academic achievements laid the foundation for a distinguished career. Jack honorably served his country for eight years as a Storekeeper in the US Coast Guard, a time that instilled in him a profound sense of duty and service. He later transitioned into the civilian workforce, where he excelled as a Human Resource Manager for over 35 years. His professional tenure at Columbus Foundries, CPM, Pratt & Whitney, and Dolly Madison was marked by his exceptional leadership and the respect he garnered from colleagues and employees alike.
Beyond his professional life, Jack was deeply involved in his community, particularly with Feeding the Valley, where he provided support with audits and agency relations. His commitment to helping others was a testament to his generous spirit. Jack was also an active member of the Solid Rock Church community, where his faith and fellowship were sources of strength and inspiration for many.
An avid sports fan, Jack's enthusiasm for Auburn University Football was infectious, and his battle cry of "TOUCHDOWN AUBURN!!!!" could be heard on game days, much to the delight of his family and friends. His interests extended to staying informed on current events, often engaging in lively debates about politics and the issues of the day. Jack's love for reading and watching the news was matched only by the pleasure he took in spending time with his eight grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Those who knew Jack will remember him as a loving husband, a thoughtful father, a friendly face in the community, and a man who brought joy and laughter to every occasion. His presence was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will be cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.
Jack is survived by his wife Connie; children Dana (Bobby Holland), Craig (Tammy Fitts), and Joel (Lindsey Fitts); grandchildren Emily (Clay Robinette), Abby (Greg Hanft), Hannah, Katherine Ann, Austin, Michael, Carter, and Brody; brother Billy Fitts; sister Jill Fitts; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends who were all touched by his extraordinary life.
