Marvin E. "Gene" Williams, Sr., 88, of Columbus, GA died Friday, October 30, 2015 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Americus, GA with his loving family by his side.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Hartman officiating. Interment will follow to Parkhill Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mr. Williams was born June 30, 1927 in Chipley, FL to the late Charlie and Ruby Williams. Mr. Williams worked proudly as a mechanic for the elite Blue Angels and he was a 32nd degree Maison.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Jack Williams, and sisters, Lucille Manning and Carolyn Herring.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Velma Williams, son, Marvin E. Williams, Jr. (Susan) of Columbus, GA, daughter, Lynn Williams Lawrence (Rick) of Leesburg, GA, grandchildren, Jennifer Jackson, Kelly Hughes, Adam Lawrence and Kristy Howard, great grandchildren, Grayson, Landon, Colton, Mattie and Kaden.
