Marvin Lewis, 85, of Columbus, GA died Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Ridgecrest Rehab and Nursing Home.

A funeral service will be held 11:00AM Thursday, October 6, 2022 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Marvin was born August 17, 1937 in Spartanburg, SC to the late Jim Lewis and Gladys Lewis. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Marvin Lewis was retired from the United States Army. He served 20 years and was involved in the Vietnam and Korean Conflict. He was a Combat Engineer and retired as a Sgt. First Class. He earned a Bronze Star Medal for combat actions in the Republic of Vietnam along with numerous other awards and citations. Upon retiring from the U.S. Army Marvin Lewis worked for Daniel's Construction Company as a General Foreman where he helped to build power plants in Georgia and Mississippi. He also worked for Alexander's Construction Company in Columbus Georgia as a welder and fabricator. Marvin Lewis was a Master Mason for 58 years and a member of Mt. Hermon Lodge #304 of Columbus Georgia.

Other than his parents Marvin is preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel Lewis, Carroll Lewis, and Paul Lewis.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Marilyn Lewis of Columbus, GA, son, Jim Lewis (Betty) of Columbus, GA, daughter, Linda Heaton of Woodstock, GA, sister, Eileen Mostiler of Spartensburg, SC, grandchildren, Marvin Lewis of Ft. Lewis, WA, Amber Arnold (Stanley III) of Marietta, GA, Nicholas Heaton (Mary) of Smyrna, GA, great grandchildren, Kaiden, Emilla and Camille.
