Martha Ann Stokes Wilson, 87, of Columbus, GA passed away Friday, August 21, 2020 at Magnolia Manor in Columbus, GA.
A private graveside service for family and close friends will be held 11:00 AM August 24, 2020 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. Hank Reeves according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, those attending the funeral service will be required to wear a face mask and social distancing will be in effect
Martha was born September 17, 1932 in Noma, Florida, Holmes County, to the late Lee Stokes and Willie Pearl Hammock Stokes. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Cecil M. Wilson and a brother, Benjamin Samuel Stokes.
Martha graduated from Poplar Springs High School in Graceville, FL. After graduation she moved to Columbus, GA where she met her husband and they married in 1954.
She was a hard-working beautician for over 30 years where she owned and operated Martha's Beauty Salon in Bibb City for many of those years. She was a long-time member of Oates Avenue Baptist Church.
Martha was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, caring for her family, sharing special moments with her grandchildren and family beach trips to Panama City Beach, FL.
Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Wilson Lamb (Joseph) of Columbus, GA, grandson, Stuart Glenn Lamb (Shauna) of Fortson, GA, and a granddaughter, Lucy Caroline Lamb of Columbus, GA.
The family would like to thank the staff at Magnolia Manor West, Columbus, GA for their care and dedication given to Martha during her time of need.
