Martha T. Lamb, 88, of Columbus died Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home with Rev. David Helms and Rev. Bill Powell officiating. A private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus. The following will serve as Honorary Pallbearers John McIntire, Jay Overby,
Trey Brooks, Tom Plock, Harry Tinsley, Ronnie Buck and Rodney Redmond.

Mrs. Lamb was born August 6, 1922 in Columbus, Georgia daughter of the late Marshall and Bob Dudley Thornton. She was a homemaker and member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Ellerslie, Ga. where she was active in the music program. As a former member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church for 60 years, Mrs. Lamb played the piano was a member of the Senior Adult Choir and worked with the children's choir for many years. She was a Honorary Member of the Columbus Music Teachers Association, taught private piano lessons for children in Columbus and was a volunteer for the St. Francis Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband George D. Lamb.

Survivors include one son Jim Lamb (Penny); three daughters Barbara J. McIntire, Becky Overby(David),
Patti Brooks (Sam) all of Columbus, Ga. six grandchildren Michelle J. McIntire of Lawrenceville, Ga., John Lamb McIntire (Maggie) of Columbus, Ga., Katie Guldin, Trey Brooks (Katie), Tracy Brooks and Jay Overby all of Columbus, Ga.
4 great grandchildren.
