Martha Jean Conrad

Martha Jean Conrad, 77, of Columbus, GA died suddenly but without suffering doing what she loved best, being with her family, on Wednesday, August 26, 2015.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, August 31, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Hank Reeves officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Conrad was born October 19, 1937 daughter of the late William and Idell McVay Faulkner. Martha graduated from Troy High School and moved to Columbus and worked for Tom's Foods for 44 years. Martha loved her family and gardening.
She met her husband, Charles Conrad, when she was 20 and while working at Tom's Foods. They have been married for almost 51 years.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by five of her siblings, Gillis, Joe and Gilbert Faulkner, Viola Jones, and Bernice Little.
Charles and Martha have one child, Donna Lapierre who lives in Hubbardston, MA with her husband, Marc Lapierre, son, Andre Lapierre and daughter, Mary Jean Lapierre. Other surviving family members are her six siblings, Magdaline Miller, Delphine Seay (Ralph), Ann Johnson (Whaley), William Faulkner (Myrtle), Wayne Faulkner and Rayford Faulkner (Joan) all of Troy, AL, special nieces, Wanda Amos and Marie Dixon, nephews, Matthew, Mark and Sam Jones and Charles' sister, Avis Sapp of Statesboro, GA.
Flowers will be accepted but those so desiring may make memorial contributions to Columbus Hospice 7020 Moon Rd. Columbus, GA 31909.
