Marita Jo Foster

Ms. Marita Jo Foster, 56, of Columbus, GA gained her angel wings into Heaven on Monday, March 29, 2021 at the Columbus Hospice House.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 2, 2021 at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA with Rev. Ken Dawson officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, April 1, 2021 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 facemasks and social distancing will be required during the service and visitation.

Marita was born on September 11, 1964 in Columbia, S.C. to Sherman Hall and the late Velma Hall. She loved all of her family and friends. Marita cared for anyone she met. Several would say she treated them as family. For example, her nickname was “Mama Rita” to so many. She was a hard worker and had a spunk that was undeniable, mostly from growing up with four older brothers. She was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

Survivors include her son Coleton Foster (Tiffany); grandchildren Theron and Thomas; her daddy Sherman Hall; her big brothers Kenneth Hall (Janice), John Hall (Pam), Ricky Hall (Yogi), and Tracey Hall; her loving boyfriend Mike Horton; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and so many wonderful friends.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and physical therapists at Piedmont and the Columbus Hospice House for the outstanding care and support that was given to her and also the entire family.
