Marion Killingsworth Copeland, 82 of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Spring Harbor at Green Island.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 8, 2013 at New Park Cemetery in Ft. Gaines, GA with Reverend John Fugh officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Marion was born and raised in Ft. Gaines, GA, graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Physical Education and taught at LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA and St. Anne Elementary in Columbus, GA. She met Joe A. Copeland in LaGrange, GA they married June 5, 1955 in Ft. Gaines, GA. Marion was an avid gardener and tennis player. Her passions in life were her faith, family and many friends along with her love for chocolate, sunshine and people.
Other than her parents, Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Joe A. Copeland.
She is survived by her children, Jodi Jernigan of Johns Creek, GA, Jay Copeland (Katie) of Midland, GA and Stuart Copeland (Michele) of Pensacola, FL, a sister Anne Wood of Fitzgerald, GA, sister-in-law Carolyn Copeland of Lagrange, GA and grandchildren Elizabeth Copeland of Atlanta, GA and Jake and Jordan Jernigan of Johns Creek, GA.
