Marika Brewer Parker, 75, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Columbus Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held 5:00 PM Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Derrick Bell officiating. A private interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Parker was born October 25, 1935 in Toccoa, GA daughter of the late Union and Gladys Fredrick Brewer. She worked as a seamstress for Ft. Benning Civil Service. She was a former pianist and member of Southside Baptist Church, and was also a member of the Eastern Star.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Parker, son, Donald Stephen Parker, and brother, Bobby F. Brewer.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Dawn Gaskins (Tony) of Columbus, GA, son, Daryl Wayne Parker of Columbus, GA, two sisters, Gloria Easteppe of Boise, ID and Dawn Hunter of Palo-Pinto, TX, and one grandchild, Kyle Joseph Adair of Columbus, GA.
