Marietta V. (Hill) Chilson

Marietta V. Chilson 87, of Columbus, Georgia died peacefully Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown Campus.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Georgia 31907

In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory will be following the recommendations set forth by the Columbus Consolidated Government and Governor Brian Kemp by requiring face coverings and social distancing for those attending the visitation.

Mrs. Chilson was born September 11, 1933 in Phenix City, Alabama daughter of the late Albert Gethel and Etta Clark Hill. She was a graduate of Baker High School serving as the mascot, a homemaker, and member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church.  Mrs. Chilson loved playing cards, spending time family and most importantly her grandchildren.

Other than her parents, Mrs. Chilson was preceded in death by her husband, William Linwood Chilson; great-grandchildren Hayden Ward and Ava Break.

Survivors include her children; Cynthia Caminiti, Burt Chilson (Marjorie), Kurt Chilson (Angela) all of Columbus, Georgia and Becky Dalton (Ken) of Mauk, Georgia; brother, Bud Gethel of Savannah, Georgia; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
