Marie Ann Andrews

Marie Ann Andrews, 82, of Columbus, GA,  died March 19, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital, Columbus, GA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:00 PM Friday, July 15, 2022 at (now) Historic St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Beaufort, SC, the site of her wedding in 1965. A private Interment will be held at the National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.

Mrs. Andrews was born November 19, 1939 in Long Island, NY, daughter of Anthony and Margaret (Tony and Margie) Lettich. Marie graduated from Beaufort High School in 1957.  After high school, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Belmont Abbey College in 1962.  After college, she worked for the CDC in Savannah, GA, where she dated her future husband, Robert (Robin) Andrews.  Marie and Robin were married at St Peter’s Catholic Church on March 1, 1965. For the majority of their 55 joyous years of marriage, they lived, loved, and raised their family on St. Simons Island, GA.

Survivors include her sister, Arlene Biggs; children, Margaret Winship (Doug) of Lakewood Ranch, FL; Claire Fairchild (John) of Cataula, GA; Robert Paul Andrews (Jill) of St. Simons Island, GA; Joseph Andrews (Jennifer) of Suwanee, GA; grandchildren, Katherine Winship and Robin (Lexi) Winship both of Lakewood Ranch, FL; Emily Fairchild of Athens, OH; Matthew Andrews and Charles Andrews both of St. Simons Island, GA; Caroline Andrews, Luke Andrews, and Kate Andrews all of Suwanee, GA; one brother in law; one sister in law; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by her husband, Robin Andrews; parents, Tony and Margie Lettich; brother, Anthony Lettich.
