Marianne Theresia Lowthrop, 86, of Columbus, GA died Monday, September 2, 2013 at her home.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM Thursday September 5, 2013 at Fort Benning Main Post Cemetery. The family will depart the Funeral Home at 9:30 AM and process to the Cemetery, for those so desiring to be a part of the procession meet at McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Lowthrop was born May 7, 1927 in Garsten, Austria daughter of the late Isador and Maria Hochstrasser. She was a homemaker.
She was a devoted mother, beloved friend and a blessing to all who knew her.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband CSM James Lowthrop, her beloved son, Ken Lowthrop, and her brothers, Felix, Max, and Walter Hochstrasser.
Survivors include her daughters, Dianne Masciovecchio (Guido), of Columbus, GA, Shirley Adkins (Gary), of Fortson, GA, grandchildren, Aaron Almand, Nicole Sikes, Matthew Brinkley, and Taylor Adkins, great-grandchildren, Diana Almand and Kendra Almand, neice, Maria Hochstrasser, nephews, Walter Hochstrasser, and Gerhard Hochstrasser of Austria, brother in law, Mark Lowthrop of Arkansas, and sister in law Lisi Hochstrasse of Garsten, Austria.
